One month’s CTC is 8.33% of the annual CTC. Agency fees for senior hires in India usually run higher. VelivoHR puts contingency fees at up to 16.67% of CTC for senior roles and 20% to 25% for retained C-suite search (VelivoHR, 2026). Athena Executive Search puts executive search at 20% to 33% of first-year CTC, and 25% to 33% for a CFO (Athena Executive Search, August 2026).
Why ₹5,000 upfront? It is not an extra charge. It is adjusted against the fee when you hire, and half of it is returned if we do not close the opening within 30 days of receiving it. It lets us spend our time on openings that are going to be filled.
The CTC figures are examples, not quotes. The 12% figure is the lower end of the senior-role band cited in Indian fee guides; VelivoHR gives the 16.67% upper end. All amounts exclude applicable taxes.
